Assessment of the thermal hazard for the skin with VIS, IRA and IRB radiation

oko

Program supporting assessment of the thermal hazard for the skin with VIS, IRA and IRB radiation with the range of 380 – 3000 nm

The initial values for hazard assessment are::
Eskóra – irradiation of the skin (marked in program as E_skin),  [W/m2],
ti – one-time exposure time in a work shift (marked as t_i), in [s].

Occupational risk assessment is performed in relation to the applicable admissible values, specified in the Regulation of the Minister of Family, Labor and Social Policy of 12 June 2018 on the highest allowable concentrations and intensities of factors harmful to health in the work environment (Journal of Laws 2018 item 1286). According to the ordinance, the value used to assess the thermal hazard of the skin with Zgodnie z rozporządzeniem wielkością służącą do oceny zagrożenia termicznego rogówki i soczewki VIS, IRA and IRB radiation is irradiance of the skin, Eskóra, in [W/m2]. For this quantity, the maximum exposure value (MDE) is determined as a function of one-time exposure time.

Based on the entered values, the program calculates the value of MDE, MDE times, k, and evaluates the occupational risk resulting from these values. In addition, the program determines the value of the permissible one-time exposure time, tp (marked as t_p), in [s]. Detailed principles of occupational risk assessment are presented in the chapter "Principles of assesment".

Color marking in occupational risk assessment:
green - low risk,
yellow - medium risk,
red - high risk.

Using the program

Enter the value of the irradiance of the skin E_skin and the one-time exposure time in the appropriate fields of the program. The entered values should be confirmed with the Enter key.
