Evaluation of operational parameters of light sources for general lighting
Andrzej Pawlak, Małgorzata Zalesińska

This article presents test results, which were used in defining and evaluating basic photometric, colorimetric and electric parameters of selected, widely available light sources equivalent to a traditional incandescent 60-Watt light bulb. One halogen light bulb, three compact fluorescent lamps and eleven LED light sources were tested. In most cases (in brand name products, in particular) the measured and calculated parameters differ from values declared by manufacturers only to a small degree. LED sources prove to be the most beneficial substitute for traditional light bulbs, considering both their operational parameters and their price, which is comparable with the price of compact fluorescent lamps or, in some instances, even lower.

Age management practices in selected companies
Anna Skład

Demographic changes in Europe, often described as "aging societies", are an important challenge to the labour market. It is necessary to support workers’ employability beyond the age when they used to retire. This will be possible only if workers remain physically and mentally fit. Employers can significantly support workers’ efforts by implementing age management, various actions aimed at maintaining employability. This article presents examples of good practices in age management in selected companies. Those practices were divided into 7 groups related to different management processes. They can be applied in other companies, which experience problems associated with maintaining workers’ employability. This article also discusses the objectives of age management and challenges associated with its implementation.

Neue Verordnung für Persönliche Schutzausrüstungen
Martin Liedtke
