    Uniformed services due to the nature of work are among the occupational groups particularly vulnerable to stressors. Nature of the service, shift work and the psychological and emotional cost incurred by these groups promotes fatigue, resulting in burnout. The aim of this study was to investigate, by means of two types of questionnaires, exposure to stress and to learn strategies to cope with it at work in the context of increasing emphasis on the psychological care in the workplace.

    The methods of providing the safety of microwave generated plasma conduction processes are presented in the article. Basic elements of microwave apparatuses common for the all microwave devices are discussed. The most important potential dangers that can be spotted around microwave industrial apparatuses are listed. The safety rules are extremely important due to the specific microwave behavior. Analysis of potential risk, the method of determination of each safety perimeters and ways of obtaining the safety certifications of the microwave site were precisely described. Additionally the legal framework, both European and Polish, on the topic is present in the article.



    Obstacles faced by people with disabilities in the labour market and the challenges associated with their activation

    A disabled person is not "worse" worker or less responsible. Employment enables people with disabilities to overcome their own limitations and fears work with other people. However, they must overcome the labor market many barriers, including mental, transportation and architecture. The purpose of this article is an attempt to present some problems of people with disabilities in the labor market and the challenges associated with the activation of this social group.



    Expenditures on prevention versus safety culture in enterprises – original research

    The article presents the results of research focussed on the expenditure on prevention and the resulting state of safety culture in 51 companies representing various sectors of the economy. Analysis of the research output showed that the higher costs of prevention calculated in relation to wages, the higher the evaluation of safety culture. This is especially true of the enterprises that have implemented the OSH management system, the companies which did not have the accident insurance premiums increased by ZUS (Social Insurance Institution) and those listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
