Abstract

Standardization activity in the scope of test methods and assessment criteria used in the field of the protection of human health and life in the working environment (physical hazards, chemical hazards, safety of machinery, ergonomics, personal protective equipment, occupational safety and health management systems)

Project summary:

"The aim of this task was to support the Institute's standardization activity related to test methods and assessment criteria used in the field of the protection of human health and life in the working environment. Standardization work was carried out within Technical Committees No. 157, 158 and 159, which are chaired by the Institute's employees. Implementation of European standards into Polish standards (52 draft standards) was worked on, too; drafts of Polish standards were developed (44 drafts); and a survey related to 50 drafts European standards was administered.A new computer program was developed. It is used for administering the contents of a database of standards in occupational safety and health (SINDBAD) from the level of a user working on a PC with Windows installed on it. The whole database run by the Institute was updated (8000 documents). This database is accessible on the Institute's website at BHP Online."
