Abstract

Inversion in programming noise emitted from machinery and equipment

Project manager: Prof. Zbigniew Engel Ph.D. (Eng.), D.Sc. (Eng.)

Project summary:

The distribution of the acoustic field around a 1JS60 air compressor was investigated. The measurements were done at 197 points distributed on a hemisphere with the radius of 1.5 m. The amplitude and the phase of sound pressure in the range from 0 do 1600 Hz were determined at every measurement point. The source of vibroacoustic energy in selected machinery, using a planing/sawing machine as an example, was identified. The main sources of vibroacoustic energy were identified with the use of the reciprocity method and the inversion method.Acoustic parameters determined with the inversion method and the reciprocity method, using a planing/sawing machine and a press as examples, were compared. Also compared were methods of determining acoustic parameters of machinery with the ray method of inversion and the intense method of inversion. The magnitude of the errors was established as well as their possible sources were defined.
