Abstract

Development and implementation of procedures for measuring the efficiency of noise attenuation in various solutions of hearing protectors fitted with electronic facilities

Project manager: Dariusz Puto Ph.D. (Eng.)

Project summary:

The EN 352-5 and EN 352-7 standards were the bases for the development of the concepts of a methodology of measuring the properties of earmuffs with an active noise reduction system, earmuffs with communication facilities and level-dependent earplugs.Test stands for measuring the efficiency of the acoustic properties of earmuffs with an active nose reduction system, with wired communication systems and level-dependent earplugs were developed and produced. The concept of a stand for testing earmuffs with a radio system was also developed. Its preliminary configuration was also done. On the basis of the tests, four procedures were conducted for testing the protective properties of hearing protectors fitted with electronic facilities. They were then included in the national system of conformity assessment.
