Abstract

Development of a method of assessing slip resistance of protective footwear in conditions simulating its use

Project summary:

The aim of this task was to develop a method of assessing slip resistance of protective footwear in conditions simulating its use. Both the concept of slipperiness and the factors that influence that mechanism are very complex, that is why the developed assessment method comprehensively considered the various aspects related to slipperiness and was appropriate for the conditions in which footwear is used.The task resulted in: - a stand for determining footwear slip resistance,- a procedure for determining footwear slip resistance, which includes a way of checking ceramic tiles,- a device for determining resistance of sole to flexing,- a procedure for determining resistance of sole to flexing,- guidelines related to selecting sole materials and tread pattern designs.
