Project manager: Małgorzata Gołofit-Szymczak Ph.D.

Project summary:

The purpose of the study was to provide the exposure to harmful biological and chemical factors (SCB) as well as the development of recommendations and guidelines to reduce the professional risk in the workstations of workers preserving ventilation installations.
Exposure assessment carried out during the execution of a task based on an analysis of workstations, SCB identification, used cleaners and disinfectors; information received was next verified with the subject`s literature.
The threat of chemical agents resulted mainly from chemicals that occur in layers of dust and in cleaners and disinfectors.
Health`s threat is different depending on type of used products, frequency of contact with cleaners and disinfectors as well on their quantity and way of use.
Basing on surveys referring to harmful biological and chemical factors, threat analysis and verification of the subject`s literature, there were developed recommendations to assess and reduce occupational exposure in the form of a brochure.
There were also developed training materials and multimedia presentation for workers of companies active within the scope of cleaning of ventilation installations, for technical staff and for people responsible for safety and health at work.
