Abstract

Assessment of the possibility to form particularly hazardous chemicals under fire design of serious accidents in chemical storage facilities.

Project manager: Agnieszka Gajek Ph.D.

Project summary:

Analysis of chemical types stored in large quantities in Poland was carried out within the framework of the task, on the basis of the data from Headquarters of the State Fire Brigade.
A separate analysis was carried out for hazardous substances found in storage facilities in extractive industries. What is more, analysis of data relating to fires in storing facilities and their results in 2006-2010 was carried out. Eligibility criteria of Seveso III were discussed with respect to substances of the lowest thresholds for groups of hazardous substances. Done A list was drown of dangerous substances with the lowest threshold values: classified into H1 category Acute toxic and dangerous substances listed in a separate table of "called substances" with threshold values corresponding to the values of H1 Acute toxic. A set of information was attributed do identified substances which is necessary for a preliminary risk assessment of their presence in fire designs.
