Abstract

Materials supporting the use of major accident prevention procedures taking into account changes in EU legislation and materials helping manage the risk of serious plants threatening industrial accidents.

Project summary:

Within a task an extended version of eligibility criteria of published Project Seveso III project was prepared, supplemented with information on hazard classes and categories of codes and signal words indicating hazard, introduced by CLP regulations. Thus prepared materials were used for analysis of actual changes in project`s Seveso III eligibility criteria in relation to the Seveso II criteria, as well as, to prepare, in accordance with the new CLP classification and design of the new Seveso III, substance Seveso database . The database was prepared as a material enabling application in Poland the new requirements, which will be introduced as a result of changes in Seveso Directive, and posted on the site concerning prevention of serious accidents. Following the publication in the Official Journal of the European Parliament and Council 2012/18/ UE (Seveso III Directive) with varying eligibility criteria a modification of data-base was needed and its adaptation to new requirements, which were changed in comparison with the project. The task prepared a monograph on the implementation of procedures to prevent major industrial accidents, including the requirements of Polish law - Act "Environmental legislation" and the EU - Seveso II Directive and Seveso III Directive.
