Abstract

Identification and assessment of hazards posed by dangerous and harmful agents at workstations in rubber industry enterprises, and the development of prevention recommendations

Project manager: Ewa Kozieł M.Sc.

Project summary:

Identification measurements of air contaminants and main mechanic factors in the process of manufacturing forwarding tapes and rubber plates were conducted. Six compounds - benzothiazole, 2,2-Dithio-bis-benzothiazole, carbon disulphide, ethylene thiourea, tioizocyjanian cyklohesylu, N-nitrosodimetylamine - present at all there workstations that were studied, were selected to be further studies in order to assess the occupational risk of workers employed as operators of mixers, rolling mills, calenders and vulcanizing presses.Concentrations of chemical substances were measured at the selected workstations, mechanical hazards were identified, microclimate was analysed, and energy expenditure was measured. Strenuousness related to physical load and incorrect parameters of the microclimate were assessed, as was occupational risk from exposure to selected chemical substances and mechanical factors.
