Abstract

Study of organizational risk factors for violence at work, and prevention methods development with special emphasis on women`s group.

Project summary:

Within the project the scope and nature of different types of violence experienced by workers of processing industry sector were defined, assuming that acquisition of such indicators will be useful for later methods development focusing on counteracting these phenomena. The research questionnaire was prepared consisting of several entry forms. Part of the questions was prepared by the authors of the project, while part was taken from already existing standardized psychological tools. Criteria for selecting group of subjects was developed and empirical studies were conducted, which included a group of 444 employees (including 190 women) employed in the production plants representing processing industry sector. Obtained data were subjected to statistical analysis. The results showed that 23.5% of respondents experienced mobbing, 20% - some form of sexual harassment, and 9.7% - physical violence. Indicators obtained in empirical studies, became the basis for methods and procedures development counteracting violence, which were categorized within the strategy: primary, secondary and tertiary strategies.
