Project manager: Rafal Hrynyk M.Sc. (Eng.)

Project summary:

The aim of the project was to develop a model of personal protective equipment, ie. gloves, clothing and protective footwear with bactericidal and fungicidal features, characterizing controlled release of the biocidal agent under any adverse underweare microclimate. Scope of work related to the development of microcapsules containing biocide PB2 of high effectiveness as applied to the selected bacteria and fungi, as well as, characterizing with minimum values of inhibitory concentration in the range of 8 - B0 mg / ml. important part of the study was performed microbiological testing of nine different textile materials constituting components of personal protective equipment, to which were applied developed microcapsules containing biocide. Within the project six models of individual protection with bactericidal and fungicidal properties were designed. Sample designs of products are rubber gloves with a cotton insole to protect against chemical threats, fire brigade gloves, coated waterproof protective clothing with knitted lining and protective, rubber footwear with felt insole.
