Use of virtual reality to train miners to handle particularly hazardous work.

Project summary:

The primary project`s objective was to enrich the current system of trainings for working miners in underground coal mines in the area of dealing with particularly hazardous work by using virtual reality (VR) techniques enabling a high level of realism simulation of dangerous situations and effective pass on among miners of so-called tacit knowledge in the field of hazardous work performance. Developed system simulates conditions that prevail in the mine during particularly hazardous work. Usage of VR techniques allows to observe behavior of trainees during a stressful situation.
