Department of Personal Protective Equipment - Projects
Abstract

Numerical models development of characteristics force- dynamic elongation of linking-cushioning components to simulate how protective equipment will work during falls from a height.

Project summary:

Within the project testing method under conditions of dynamic characteristics of aggravating force - elongation of selected equipment components protecting against falls from height. The method is based on simultaneous registration of research object elongation and the force acting at its anchorage point to the supporting structure. Developed testing method together with the position has been validated, which showed her compatibility for the planned applications. The testing method and position were used in the developed examination procedure determining dynamic expansions of linker components cushioning protective equipment against falls from height. What is more the method will be implemented into the national system of testing and certification. Characteristics of force- dynamic elongation were studier under dynamic conditions with selected objects made of ropes and textile belts used in equipment to protect against falls from height. For the development of numerical models, beyond the specified characteristics in dynamic conditions, studies were carried out under static conditions.
