GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT GDYNIA

Gdynia, one of Poland's youngest cities, was founded as a harbor in 1926. The city with a population of nearly 260,000 situated on the Gdansk Bay, is a major Baltic seaport.

Gdynia offers many tourist attractions (ships moored in the dockyards, like the “Lighting” destroyer and the “Pomeranian Gift” for instance, the Maritime Museum and Aquarium, beautiful waterfronts, many yacht clubs).
Gdynia is part of an urban area of three cities with Gdańsk (a magnificent Old Town District and the Oliwa Cathedral) and Sopot (numerous sand beaches and the Forest Opera).
