Currency
The Polish currency is the zloty (PLN). 1 EUR = 3.87 PLN (as of 27 March 2007)

Getting to the city from the airport
Warsaw Frederic Chopin Airport (www.polish-airports.com) is located in the south-western part of Warsaw, ca 10km from the city centre.

The local bus #175 departs from in front of the arrivals hall and passes through the city centre and near the Old Town (journey time – 30 minutes). During the day ticket price is 2.40 PLN – the same fee applies to each piece of luggage. The official timetable of the bus lines can be found at: www.ztm.waw.pl  

Taxis to the city centre cost approximately 37-45 PLN (ca. 10 EUR, journey time – 20 minutes). It is advisable for visitors to book an official taxi (suggested company: MPT Taxi, tel. +48 9191) and to confirm the price before setting off. Taxis cost approximately 2.50 PLN (ca. 0.65 EUR) per kilometre and can be hired in front of the arrivals hall at the airport.

Tickets
Bus, tram and the metro tickets (in Polish: bilety) can be bought from newspaper and tobacco kiosks. Bus and tram tickets are PLN 2.40 each and can also be bought on board from drivers; metro tickets can only be acquired prior to your journey.
