The free BactiCALC app for microbiological analyses has been available since September
BactiCALC is a free mobile application developed by the Central Institute for Labour Protection – National Research Institute (CIOP-PIB). It supports processes such as microbial colony counting, antibiogram analysis, and results reporting. The app is designed to assist microbiologists, laboratory staff, quality control specialists, and researchers in their daily work. By incorporating artificial intelligence algorithms, BactiCALC enables fast, accurate, and reproducible analysis of microbiological results.

The 113th Session of the International Labor Conference (ILC) was held in Geneva at the headquarters of the International Labor Organization (ILO).
It is the annual meeting of the ILC's principal body, which is a specialized agency of the United Nations and the most important global organization dealing with labor law and social affairs, having adopted over 190 international conventions. Delegates of workers, employers and governments from 187 ILO member states addressed a wide range of issues, including: a discussion on setting standards for protection against biological hazards, a recurring discussion on the strategic purpose of fundamental principles and rights at work, and a general discussion on decent work and the care economy.

Technical Guidelines on Biological Hazards in the work environment have been published on the website of the International Labour Organization ILO.
The objective of the Technical Guidelines on Biological adopted by the 346th Session of ILO's Governing Body in November 2022 (GB.346/INS/17/3) is to provide governments, employers, workers, and their organizations with key principles for the effective management of biological hazards in the working environment, in line with ILO standards and principles. The guidelines were drafted by a group of international specialists and were adopted by a tripartite meeting of experts from different countries that met in Geneva from 20 to 24 June 2022.
