    This paper presents sample results of computer simulations predicting potential consequences for people of accidents in road transport of chlorine and ammonia. Contaminated areas, being a result of chlorine and ammonia leaks, have been foretold, taking uninhabited, low- and high-density housing areas both in winter and summer into account. The article also predicts potential consequences of cisterns with nitric acid and gasoline’s detonation by terrorists. It discusses, compares and assesses the results of potential consequences of accidents in road transportation of gasoline, chlorine and ammonia, depending on terrain conditions and weather.


    Professional drivers selection - positive or negative choice

    This paper presents the results of a study done in three groups of drivers: professional and amateurs drivers never involved in heavy road crashes, and amateurs drivers – offenders in heavy road crashes. The level of psychomotor skills and mental abilities, which are critical for safe driving have been compared between these groups. The results of the study suggest revising criteria for drivers’ job selection.


    Musculoskeletal ailments prophylaxis In the light of psychosocial work conditions

    In this article authors endeavor to take a holistic look on the musculoskeletal ailments problematic. Many factors are currently assumed to have an impact on such illnesses within the mentioned system. The biggest risk, however, seems to be caused by psychosocial work conditions. As a result of such notion, recommendations regarding psychosocial work environment organization have been prepared in the aspect of musculoskeletal ailment prophylaxis.


    Impact of social responsibility rules enforcement on the quality of life at work

    A newly developed international standard ISO 26 000 should support companies in understanding and implementing social responsibility. One of the expected results of integrating social responsibility with OSH management is improving the quality of working life. The research presented in the article confirms that statistically significant differences exist between almost all indexes characterizing the quality of working life in companies with different level of implementing social responsibility in OSH management.


    Cognitive, behavioral and social approach towards attitude modification in view of the occupational safety

    For as long as the main cause to accidents at work is going to be incorrect employees behavior, all actions leading to diminishing the number of such accidents will focus on predicting certain attitudes and changing them. In the light of connection between human attitude and behavior postulated by many social psychologists, employees attitude towards the occupational safety and health characteristics gains on importance just as well as skillful shaping of these bearings. The article describes three types of approach towards changing employee’s attitude: cognitive, social and behavioral.


    Noise at workplaces in call center

    Lately the number of new workplace type i.e. call center. It’s defined as workstations where the base tasks of worker are realizing by phone and computer. Noise is among the harmful and bothersome hazards of call center workplaces. The article consist: results and assessment of noise on the workplaces in call center and recommendation for noise reduce. The measurement results show that noise on the workplaces in call center (during use by operators handset receiver phone) can be harmful hazards (to bring risk hearing loss) and bothersome to make of work and to bring about extra auditory disadvantageous changes of heath.


    Personal files protection in the light of job recruitment procedure

    Possible as well as present employees personal files are subject to extraordinary protection. The range of information that can be requested by an employer has been described in a number of domestic and international acts of law. The most primary regulations in that matter are formulated in the Labour code. Furthermore, the range of personal data protection is also set in the Personal Data Protection act, Constitution of Poland, National Penal Register act and European Directives 2000/78/WE and 95/46/WE. Should an employer violate any rules while gathering information they will be subject to responsibility in accordance to cited laws.
