  • Occupational safety and rehabilitation robots
    Emilia Mikołajewska, Dariusz Mikołajewski

Rehabilitation robotics is perceived as the use of robotic devices in rehabilitating various conditions, especially motor, cardiological and neurological ones. It can be perceived as a good solution in improving efficiency, saving time and reducing the cost of healthcare of patients with disabilities, those severely ill and elderly ones. This article aims at investigating the extent to which the available opportunities are used, with a particular focus on how safe of rehabilitation robots are and what threat they pose. As there are no relevant studies or publications, further research is necessary.

Exposimeters of radiofrequency electromagnetic radiation - an overview of functional and technical parameters
Krzysztof Gryz, Jolanta Karpowicz, Wiesław Leszko

This article presents the problems of investigating electromagnetic radiofrequency radiation with individual exposimeters. It discusses the functional and technical parameters of selective and broadband exposimeters most often used in investigating and assessing human exposure to electromagnetic radiofrequency radiation. The article also discusses the results of investigations of selected metrological parameters of exposimeters such as sensitivity in predefined frequency bands and isotropy, which may significantly influence the results of investigations on exposure to radiofrequency radiation.

    Assessment of teachers`
Danuta Augustyńska, Anna Kaczmarska, Witold Mikulski, Jan Radosz

Assessment of teachers’ exposure to noise in primary schools was carried out on the basis of questionnaire studies, noise measurements at teachers’ workplaces and an analysis of statistical data on hazards and occupational diseases in the education sector. The studies showed that noise is the main factor of annoyance in the school environment. Noise in schools is also a harmful factor. High noise levels of 80 - 85 dB, measured in corridors during breaks and in gyms, can cause the risk of hearing damage among teachers and students.

Termination of a work contract without notice
    Urszula Milewska-Marzyńska

This article discusses the institution of termination of an employment contract without notice as provided for in the Polish Labour Code. It describes reasons for such termination of the employment relationship and analyses the opinions of legal doctrine and judicature in this respect. The articles also presents examples of events from day-to-day life which may be classified as reasons for termination. Additionally, it contains descriptions of the procedure for pursuing claims which the employer and the employee might have in connection with improper termination of an employment relationship without notice.

Knowledge and usage of rules of ergonomics at computer workstations
    Joanna Kamińska, Tomasz Tokarski

This article compares knowledge and skills in the context of ergonomics of call center workers. The authors prove that participation in theoretical training is not enough. Training combined with participation in an ergonomics intervention makes it possible for the workers to use their workstations more efficiently thanks to their knowledge and skills. Practical recommendations on an ergonomic organization of the workstation and increased skills reduce the frequency and intensity of MSD-related pain.
