Exposure to noise during a football match
Bartłomiej Kukulski, Kamil Piotrowski

This article presents the problem of legal regulations on noise at mass events. It also presents the results of noise measured during a football match. The study was carried out on October 22, 2017 in Kraków, during a match between Wisła Kraków and Legia Warszawa. Changes in sound pressure level values were recorded during the whole event. Then specific fragments were analyzed. Noise was measured at three points inside the stadium. Calculated values of the LCpeak, LAFmax and LAeq parameters were compared with permissible values in the work environment; a frequency analysis of selected match events was made.

Problems with signal lighting colours’ recognition
Grzegorz Owczarek

The article presents the main eye hazards caused by excessive eye exposure on optical radiation. The human eye sensitivity spectral distribution in the context of signal colour recognition was discussed. In order to explain the effects of the mechanism of phenomena responsible for the recognition of signal lights colour, a graphical analysis of spectral distributions of signal lights emitted from traditional incandescent sources and LED sources (light emitting diode) was performed.
This analysis also takes into account the conditions under which observation of signal lights may take place (daylight and night vision conditions). The conclusions also indicate the further direction of studies on the influence of colour recognition affected by vision conditions, eye sensitivity spectral distribution (including disturbance of colour recognition) and different types of signal light sources.

Utility parameters of air filters used in general ventilation and air conditioning systems – new requirements of standards and results of own research
Tomasz Jankowski, Szymon Jakubiak

The article discusses the replacement of the existing standard for air filtration for general ventilation (PN-EN 779) with a series of standards PN-EN ISO 16890. This article presents current rules for testing and classification of air filters. The results of the study which investigated changes in filtration efficiency and aerosol flow resistance in the range of 0.3 μm to 10 μm were presented to determine the inclusion of an exemplary air filter in the group PM10, PM2,5 and PM1.

Legal requirements for reflective gear for pedestrians
Adam Pościk

Over 800 pedestrians are killed in road accidents in Poland every year. Inadequate visibility, especially at night, is a main cause of these accidents. Retro-reflective accessories, which reflect the light of car headlights towards their source are effective in improving road workers’ and pedestrians’ visibility.
This article discusses the legal requirements for marketing retro-reflective accessories, for their construction, limitations in use and technical requirements set out in a European standard.
