Abstract

Prophylactic evaluation of safety and health risks when handling high-voltage power networks.

Project manager: Jolanta Karpowicz Ph.D. (Eng.)

Project summary:

The project included efforts to develop comprehensive exposure profiles of selected employees group to these work environment factors specific for work on electro-energetic network. These were: study visits in power facilities, surveys with participation of professional workers operating electro-energetic networks, studying environmental factors covering such factors as: ultraviolet radiation, energy expenditure, radon decay atmospheric products and electromagnetic fields. Based on the research results comprehensive exposure profiles to environmental factors were developed for selected groups of workers employed in HV handling, which further on were presented in a multidisciplinary monograph "Environmental Exposure at Work while operating high-voltage electro-energetic power network in Poland ". Safety and health preventive recommendations for workers while handling HV were also developed and presented in a guide "Environmental Exposure at Work while operating high-voltage electro-energetic power network in Poland and preventive solutions in order to reduce their side effects".
