Abstract

Investigating the influence of the construction of earmuffs on the efficiency of attenuating impulse noise

Project manager: Jan Żera Ph.D. (Eng.)

Project summary:

The aim of this research task was to develop a method and to investigate construction features of earmuffs to determine those construction features that influence the efficiency of attenuating impulse noise. A measuring system was developed: it consists of 2 sources of acoustic impulses (a ZM2 source and a set of dynamic speakers) and a receiving set adapted to measure the attenuation of impact noise by earmuffs. A method was also developed to investigate construction features of earmuffs regarding identification of features responsible for attenuation impulse noise.
