Project manager: Grzegorz Dudka M.Sc. (Eng.)

Project summary:

"The aim of the task was to launch within the structure of CIOP-PIB a Centre for Accident Analyses, which would analyse in depth accidents at work for the purposes of prevention.A procedure was developed for conducting in-depth analyses of accidents at work; it considers the principles of initiating additional investigations in especially endangered areas and occupational groups. The procedure includes: * verification of data,* preliminary analysis of data,* in-depth analysis of data,* initiation of and conducting data-mining analyses,* identification of especially endangered areas and occupational groups.A report-analysis system for gathering, managing and analysing data on accidents at work was also prepared. The task resulted in a verified procedure for conducting in-depth analyses that makes it possible to identify areas in which the number of accident is greatest and where they cause gravest consequences, and mechanisms of those accidents. A database of accidents at work was also created; 2005 data was input into it. New data from successive years will be added. This database can be used for gathering other data, such as information on working conditions gleaned by the Central Statistical Office from the Z-10 reports or data on the number of employed people, which broadens the scope of possible analyses."
