Abstract

Developing the survey method of exploitation time of protective gloves against mineral oils and selected mechanical factors.

Project manager: Emilia Irzmańska Ph.D. (Eng.)

Project summary:

There was developed the survey method of exploitation time of protective gloves taking into account the simulated conditions of use. Inquiries at some workstations allowed making assumptions to this survey method regarding kind of mechanical burdens, kind of chemical substances and testing time. Next step to survey exploitation time of protective gloves was to modify existing laboratory research instrument allowing simulating real conditions at workstations in charge.
Experimental researches were done to define safety usage time of selected protective gloves against declared oil and mechanical resistance. Studies included two types of protective gloves i.e. tight gloves completely made from oil-resistant polymers and gloves partially covered with polymers at the inner side of the hand.
There were developed time estimation criteria of safety usage of protective gloves. Survey results were appraised through users and producers of these gloves.
