Abstract

Investigating the process of the cooling of hands in experimental conditions to improve the construction of protective gloves

Project manager: Agnieszka Andrzejewska M.Sc. (Eng.)

Project summary:

"The processes of the cooling of hands at workstations of workers exposed to low temperature were studied. 5 types of gloves protecting against the cold, with various protective properties, were used in studying the processes. They mainly had thermoinsulation equivalent of the efficiency levels 1, 2, 3 according to the PN-EN 511 standard. The procedure for studying the cooling of hands was determined and subjects were selected. The next aim was to develop a model of a new construction solution for gloves protecting against the cold; gloves that would provide an optimal level of protection for individual parts of the hand. The range of the tasks that were carried out included: selecting materials with appropriate protective parameters, developing 6 models of gloves protecting against the cold, developing technical documentation of the models of gloves, assessing the protective properties of the developed and produced models of gloves, modifying two stands for testing gloves protecting against the cold.
