Improvement of welders work safety through the use of reality module enriched with built-in eyes and face shields.

Project summary:

The project developed an enriched reality system model which integrates two types of display: graphic information and the image of welding helmets. Construction works focused mainly on the development of the optimal use of reality system display inside the body of a welding helmet to screen and process additional information from the welding environment. Developed model allows to extend the functions of currently used welding cover with a number of additional functions such as:
- Observation of welding environment;
- Informing welder about welding parameters and conditions, as well as, about environmental hazards;
- Informing welder about the workpiece material defects.
A modification of the enriched reality module was performed and laboratory and utility studies of produced models were carried out.
