Abstract

Development of principles and guidelines for the use of personal protective equipment in small and medium-sized enterprises

Project manager: Adam Pościk M.Sc. (Eng.)

Project summary:

On the basis of the results of studies, criteria for the assessment of compliance of the use of personal protective equipment with the requirements of the 89/656/EEC directive were developed. Also developed were information materials (checklists, brochures and training materials) and an Internet service. The developed criteria and tools supporting the selection and use of those measures (checklists for selected workstations, guides with the principles of the selection and use of personal protective equipment for selected sectors, and training materials in the form of multimedia presentations) were verified. Part of the task consisted in developing a forecast on the adaptation of the working conditions in Polish enterprises to EU requirements, on the basis of the Łódź region. This forecast was used in developing - as part of the LORIS programme - a strategy for the development of the Łódź region.
