Abstract

Research method of resistance to permeation of chemicals by protective materials deformed in conditions of enforced dynamic changes

Project manager: Sylwia Krzemińska Ph.D. (Eng.)

Project summary:

Assumptions for research method of resistance to permeation of chemicals by protective polymer materials in conditions of simultaneous mechanical deformation were developed due to recommendations of the Polish standard PN-EN 6529:2005.
Scope of adaptation of the existing test stand was specified in the context of tests in question.
Possibilities to enter external force to test trial while simultaneous permeation of chemicals through protective polymer materials were as follows:
-neutral gas admission underside - simulation of stretching;
- piston underside - simulation of stretching;
- arms deflecting trial in both sides - simulation of bending.
Developed permeation projects were used to construct test stand to check resistance to permeation of liquid chemicals by protective polymer materials in conditions of enforced dynamic deformation.
Protective materials were tested with the use of selected chemicals. Tests concerned solvents permeation through different polymer materials in form of pellicle or fabric made from two types of India rubber.
