Abstract

Investigating the phenomena of filtration of aerosols with a liquid phase of distribution in the conditions of personal respiratory protection

Project manager: Piotr Pietrowski Ph.D. (Eng.)

Project summary:

A method of investigating phenomena taking place in filtration materials during the filtration of aerosols with a liquid phase of distribution was determined. It included testing conditions and the equipment used.Series of systematic tests were carried out. They made it possible to analyse phenomena that take place during the filtration of aerosols with a liquid phase of distribution. A model solution of a system of filtration layers was developed. It is an efficient protection against an aerosol with a liquid phase of distribution, at least at the level of protection class 2.On the basis of the obtained results that determine the efficiency of initial filtration and its change as a function of time for the paraffin oil mist aerosol, it was established that a model solution that meets the accepted assumptions is as follows: a system of layers that consists of polypropylene fibrous material with the surface mass of 60 g/m2 and a polycarbon fibrous material with the surface mass of 90 g/m2.
