Evaluation of actions undertaken in Polish enterprises aimed at maintaining employment of elderly workers (50 +).

Project summary:

Methodology of research was developed and a sample of companies was selected. Research tools were also developed in a form of two questionnaires, one of which was addressed to companies (completed by the employers) and the other to the employees in the 50+ group. Practice in the field of activities aimed at employing employees 50+ were reviewed in Europe and Poland.
Then a survey was conducted among 200 employers and 500 employees seniors (50 +) on the evaluation of actions aimed at maintaining the employment of workers 50+.
Results of studies among employees (50 +) indicate that approx. 20% of respondents admit that there need to be some changes in companies regarding elderly workers. Among the most desirable types of activities were: improving qualifications, computer courses, learning foreign languages, health protection and promotion.
