Abstract

The ergonomic indirect lighting with modern light sources at workstations with display screens.

Project manager: Andrzej Pawlak M.Sc. (Eng.)

Project summary:

Analysis of the streaming flux calculations for their suitability for the indirect lighting installations was carried out. With the use of a chosen - Monte Carlo - method simulations of photometric emitting diode (LED) solid were done in order to determine the optimum number of random rays test for further simulations of light distribution intensity in the room than from indirect lighting installations with different LED configurations. The influence of computational parameters on the accuracy of the results and errors, including also systematic, related to calculation of zone dimension and the number of elements into which the tested room was divided. Based on the analysis of the obtained results and measurements of computer simulations, it was found that the lightning intensity values vary up to 3%. Uniformity of the luminance values were fairly close and very large, exceeding 0.8 which indicates that the indirect lighting installations provide very high uniformity of illumination in the room. Moreover, design basics were developed and a model was designed of the lighting system composed of two indirect luminaries and systems controlling luminous flux.
