Abstract

Development and implementation of procedures of testing and assessing lighting systems for workstations with particular visual strain

Project manager: Agnieszka Wolska Ph.D. (Eng.)

Project summary:

To carry out the task it was necessary to determine the criteria for testing and assessing mixed (electric and daylight) lighting at workstations with particular visual strain. That is why tests of visual strain and comfort of vision at a computer workstation, which is considered a workstation with particular visual system, were carried out. Those tests were experimental and they were conducted in laboratory conditions with a representative group of subjects. The test results showed that the kind of the installed lighting system does not significantly influence changes in the tested visual functions. That means that from the physiological point of view, none of the tested lighting systems increased visual fatigue. The developed system of assessing lighting of workstations with special particular visual strain, consists of 4 testing procedures (NBO-5, NBO-6, NBO-7, NBO-8).
