Development of assessment of procedures and principles of using vision-based protective devices (VBPD) in an industrial environment

Project summary:

Consecutive stages of this task consisted of an analysis of the parameters and technical capabilities of currently available VBPD in the context of using them as protective devices. Methods of processing and analysing - in terms of quick detection of a human or human body parts - were reviewed, as were currently used VBPD. Requirements regarding the principles of shaping a passive pattern of a VBPD were made more detailed, the principal features of the detection zone of VBPD were established and the basis principles of determining and shaping detection zones of VPBD are presented. On the basis of the materials that were gathered, a proposal for assessment criteria of VBPD with a passive pattern were developed.
