Abstract

Development and implementation of procedures for tests of active optoelectronic protective devices responsive to diffuse radiation (AOPDDR)

Project manager: Tomasz Strawiński M.Sc. (Eng.)

Project summary:

Consecutive stages of this task consisted of a review of AOPDDR's features and parameters. Laser scanners are a practical realization of AOPDDR. The relationship between the detection zone and the tolerance zone was analysed in detail. It was demonstrated that an introduction into the detection zone through the tolerance zone would have an unwelcome effect on the response time. The method of response time measurement was modified. This modification consisted in a change in the direction in which the test piece was inserted, which made it possible to eliminate errors in response time measurement. Those errors result from the presence of the tolerance zone. A programme of AOPDDR-type tests was also developed. According to this programme, 9 research procedures will be carried out (NBS-01 - NBS-09). They will later make it possible to carry out a full range of tests required by the PN-EN 61496-1:2001 and PN-EN 61496-3:2002 (U) standards.
