Abstract

Computer modelling for preventing basic mechanical hazards at selected woodworking workstations with the highest accident risk

Project manager: Krystyna Myrcha Ph.D. (Eng.)

Project summary:

A system of computer modelling for preventing basic mechanical hazards at selected woodworking workstations with the highest accident risk was developed. Workstations with the highest accident risk were selected. They were equipped with groups of machines with hand-fed and manual loading and/or unloading, such as planing machines and vertical spindle moulding machines. It was shown how it is possible to build computer geometric modules that can be used to generate kinematics of the operator-machine system and to construct models of mechanical hazards. The computer models of mechanical hazards in the operator-machine system that were built are used in simulating hazards at the abovementioned woodworking workstations with the highest accident risk.
