Optical Radiation and Workstation Lighting

Optical Radiation and Workstation Lighting

Optical radiation - ultraviolet, visible and infrared radiation - represents a factor characterised by high biological activity, required for normal human development and functioning. However, its excess or deficit can have many detrimental to health effects. Improper lighting of interiors and workstations causes significant strenuousness for vision and can lead to a decrease in productivity and work quality or even to accidents.

The Institute's activities:

  • optimization of lighting conditions at workstations
  • measurement and evaluation of the effects of optical radiation on human
  • development of methods of reducing hazards related to excessive optical radiation.
