Work accidents in Poland

 

The data from the Central Statistical Office indicate that the number or frequency of work accidents have not changed significantly over the last 10 years. In 2011 there were over 97 thousand work accidents, with the frequency rate of 8.35 (per 1,000 workers)[1].

The fatal accident rate in Poland in 2008 was 3.91, which was slightly higher than the average EU rate (3.21).

It should be emphasized that over the last 10 years the number of newly registered occupational diseases has been decreasing. In 2011 there were 2562 diseases recorded, and the incidence rate was 24,6 (per 100 000 workers).

The number of workers exposed to hazards is relatively stable. However, since 2008 a slight decline has been observed.
