Profile of the laboratory's activities:

The issues that are of interest to the employees of the biomechanics laboratory are related to the loading of the human muscular and skeleton system in the work environment.   The loading of the muscular and skeleton system depends on three main biomechanical factors, namely the positions adopted at work, the external loads, i.e. the force that the worker must exert in the work process on the environment and the duration of he activities undertaken, as well as the frequency of their repetition.  The above factors must be considered in order to correctly evaluate the load.  Much research work undertaken in various scientific centres around the world concentrate on the definition of the optimal dependencies between these factors.

The scientififc and research issues of the Biomechanical Laboratory are focused on the following questions:

  • The loading of the upper limbs and the shoulder girdle during the work undertaken during repetitive task,
  • The loading of the upper limbs and back during work undertaken in an upright position with significant force,
  • The influence of the type of seat on the loading of the muscular and skeleton system during work in a seated position,
  • The loading of the lower limbs when operating pedals.

Pracownia Biomechaniki - Oferta

  • Ergonomic assessment of workstations equipped with screen monitors (based on the Regulation of the Minister of Labor and Social Policy of December 1, 1998 on occupational health and safety at workstations equipped with screen monitors).
  • Ergonomic analysis of workstations with a predominance of static work, taking into account the risk assessment (static work, monotype at workstations).
  • Ergonomic assessment of workers' body position assumed during work based on goniometric recording of angles in selected joints and their analysis.
  • Certification of office seats and rehabilitation office seats in accordance with the PN-EN 1335-1:2004 standard and on the basis of additional criteria.
