Eye and Face Protection Laboratory - About the Laboratory

Main areas of activity of the Eye and Face Protection Laboratory:


  • Performance of scientific and research work related to the development of methods and stands for testing eye and face protection equipment,
  • Definition of the requirements of the protective and usage parameters of eye and face protection equipment representing the basis for assessing these products in terms of safety,
  • Development of computer programs supporting the selection of personal protection equipment at the work station,
  • Development of new models of personal protection equipment with high usage parameters, satisfying the requirements of Polish Standards that are harmonised with the European standards and the improvement of the existing design solutions of this protection equipment,
  • Preparation of training materials for the purposes of CIOP’s educational activities,
  • Provision of consultations to users, employers, manufacturers, and distributors, as well as OSH inspectors in the area of the protection of the eyes and face,
  • Preparation of studies for employers on the choice of eye and face protection equipment for individual work stations,
  • Laboratory tests of eye and face protection equipment for certification purposes.
  • Analysis of accidents at work using personal protection equipment for preventive purposes.
